The Edgewood Tahoe Resort and NBC Sports is presenting the American Century Golf Championship beginning with The Celebrity Am/Tournament on Tuesday , a practice round and autograph signing on Wednesday. Thursday the American Century Celebrity/Amateur game will be held, and from Friday through Saturday, The American Century Celebrity Championship will take place. The chosen recipient of American Century’s fundraising efforts will be Autism Speaks.

Some of the celebrity golfers include Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Ray Romano, Chris Tucker, Emmit Smith, NBC’s Stone Phillips…………and the list goes on! There is even a rumor going around that Tiger Woods may join his friend Michael Jordan to play. Last week when we visited Tahoe the water was choppy and very unfriendly. Yesterday things were much more peaceful and inviting. It will be a dry and hot summer with water low throughout the region, but much fun can still be had. South Lake Tahoe has water skiing, hot air balloons, swimming, fishing, golfing, kayaking and fun at the Mont Bleu, Harrahs, Harveys, Bill’s, and all the other casinos working hard to make this summer filled with awesome fun.

If memory serves, Mont Bleu is getting ready for it’s first anniversary with some nice events. Everything seems to be coming up at the end of this month with Memorial Day kicking off the summer season. I’ll get the camera out a bit later and see if I can’t toss up some pictures of Tahoe from last night. Until then, enjoy!

The Spring Schwing Snow Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, April 29 2007 at Squaw Valley USA. The course consists of five holes hand crafted by the snow golf masters The game is played with golf clubs and tennis balls (bring your own!). Prizes will be awarded to all team members, and a mystery prize will be awarded to anyone who can make a hole in one on the fifth hole! Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30am at the Cable Car Lobby. Tee-Off will be at 10:00am at High Camp. Gather at the High Camp Pool at noon to relax before the awards ceremony and BBQ which starts at 1:00.

Lake Tahoe golf courses provide challenging and scenic play for all levels.
